【摘要】:Thisguideprovidesthoseusingstandardsrelatedtosoil,rock,andrelatedconstructionmaterials,withameansforselectingthebalancerequiredforaparticularstandard.Thisguideprovidesthosewritingstandardspertainingtosoil,rock,andrelatedconstructionmaterialswithameansforspecifyingthebalancecapabilitiesrequiredforaparticularstandardandfordescribingthebalanceselectedinauniformfashion.Thisguideprovidesagenciesconductingsoil,rock,andrelatedconstructionmaterials,testingwithguidanceforselectingandevaluatinggeneralpurposebalancesandstandardmasses.Thisguideprovidesinspectionorganizationswithcriteriaforevaluatinggeneralpurposebalancesandstandardmasses.1.1Thisguideprovidesminimumrequirementsforgeneral-purposescales,balances,andstandardmassesusedintestingsoil,rock,andrelatedconstructionmaterials.1.2Thisguideprovidesguidanceforevaluating,selecting,andspecifyinggeneralpurposescales,balances,andstandardmassesusedintestingsoil,rock,andrelatedconstructionmaterials.1.3Theaccuracyrequirementsforbalancesandscalesarespecifiedintermsofthecombinedeffectofallsourcesoferrorcontributingtooverallbalanceperformance.Themeasurementofspecificsourcesoferrorandconsiderationofdetailspertainingtobalanceconstructionhavebeenintentionallyavoided.1.4Thisguidedoesnotincluderequirementsforbalancesandscaleshavingaccuraciesgreaterthanthosegenerallyrequiredintestingsoil,rock,andrelatedconstructionmaterialsorforresearchprogramsorspecializedtestingrequirements.1.5Thisguidedoesnotapplytonongraduatedbalances.1.6Thisguidedoesnotaddressthemethodsusedtoverifyorquantifyspecificparametersdealingwithbalancesandscales.Foradescriptionoftestsusedinevaluatingbalanceperformance,seeNISTHandbook44.1.7Thisguideisnotintendedtobeusedasaspecificationforthepurchaseofbalancesandscales.Note1TheNationalInstituteofStandardsandTechnology(NIST),formerlytheNationalBureauofStandards(NBS),andtheInternationalOrganizationofLegalMetrology(OIML)publishstandardsorpracticesthatspecifyconstructionrequirementsaswellasperformanceguidesforbalances.ASTM,OIML,andNISTpublishconstructionstandardsandtolerancesforstandardmasses.Note2Theterms"mass"and"determinethemassof"areusedinthisstandardinsteadofthemorecommonlyusedterms"weight"and"weigh"tocomplywithstandardmetricpractice.Inaddition,theterm"standardmass(es)"isusedinsteadofstandard"standardweight(s)"whenreferringtoapieceofmaterialofknownspecifiedmassusedtocompareormeasurethemassofothermasses.1.8Thisguideoffersanorganizedcollectionofinformationoraseriesofoptionsanddoesnotrecommendaspecificcourseofaction.Thisdocumentcannotreplaceeducationorexperienceandshouldbeusedinconjunctionwithprofessionaljudgement.Notallaspectsofthisguidemaybeapplicableinallcircumstances.ThisASTMstandardisnotintendedtorepresentorreplacethestandardofcarebywhichtheadequacyofagivenprofessionalservicemustbejudgednorshouldthisdocumentbeappliedwithoutconsiderationofaproject''smanyuniqueaspects.Theword"Standard"inthetitleofthisdocumentmeansonlythatthedocumenthasbeenapprovedthroughtheASTMconsensusprocess.
